Webex Cloud
At TU Berlin you can choose between two WebEx implementations:
- cloudbased WebEx, suitable for lectures and public sessions
- WebEx on premise (TU servers), suitable for meetings that require a stricter data privacy adherence such as e-assessments and internal matters.
Keeping the number of participants in mind, you can choose between three formats to structure your event:
The following information concerns the cloudbased WebEx solution only.
- The cloud solution is suitable for up to 500 participants
- WebEx Training is suitable for up to 1000 participants
- WebEx on premise (TU) only allows for WebEx Meetings suitable for up to 50 participants.
WebEx Meetings or WebEx Training?
WebEx Meetings
WebEx allows you to work interactively: share files or your screen, collaborate, use a whiteboard to commonly take notes, write a protocol, meet a subgroup in breakout sessions, share a survey, debate matters in a seperate chat window.
- Organisers: TUB login data (required)
- Participants: receive their login data by e-mail
- Number of participants: up to 500
WebEx Training
WebEx Training also provides several functions to support digital education (e.g. share files or your screen, breakout sessions).

WebEx Teams
WebEx Teams is an application that allows for a continuous collaboration in teams: video chats, group messaging, sharing files as well as a whiteboard. Colleagues and project partners can exchange information quick and effortless. Virtual meetings are arranged quickly. The application allows for text messaging, sharing files or links. Notes taken and files shared are visible to all participants.
